Electric cooker safe position

Anonymous user 15 March 2024 - 2.33 PM

I have an electric cooker placed right next to the door as you open it. I cannot open or close the door while cooking is in action without causing danger. Is this safe?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Doubt it. I would look to get it moved. Hitchens... I think this person asking the question was not on about Electrically safe, think it was the more the location. If struggling for an answer quote the regulations that will impress / confuse everyone.

There is nothing in the regulations to say that a cooker blocking a door from fully opening is unsafe however it is obviously very impractical. If possible get a qualified electrician in to move the cooker to a new location in the kitchen.

If you "cannot open the door without causing danger " then it isn't safe !
