Gloss over satin?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.24 PM

My p&d painted gloss directly over satin paint, would this explain the amount of runs or is it that he's just used too much paint?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The amount of runs is not because him paint gloss over satin paint. Can be because him used cheap paint or him apply to much paint and don't spread it properly.

The fact that he has painted gloss directly over satin will not have caused the runs. this should not be the correct method but the runs have been caused due to over applying the paint. There may be a slight chance his paint was also not the greatest but he may have not been a professional painter.

This is due to two factors. 1. Cheap paint. 2. Applying too much and not brushing evenly.

Or 3: It's not been sanded correctly before any new paint has been applied.
