Random rubber tube under boiler/sink leaking water?....

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

Hi, I've recently moved into my first home and so far things have been a disaster. Everything seems to be faulty and I'm having a hell of a time. I'm not sure if this is a plumbing or a central heating question so forgive me. My kitchen has so far been flooded 5 times by a mysterious rubber hose that was just jammed behind my kitchen units not connected to anything. I've since discovered a similar tube connected to something under my boiler and considering the tube only leaks water when the heating is on I'm guessing it's connected. My question is what the hell is it, where should it be connected to and who should I contact? I'm a young girl who lives alone and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing... Many thanks for any help. :)

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If your not having to refill the boiler from a filling loop then it sound s like a condensate outlet from the boiler which should be properly plumbed in to waste pipe or discharge point outside. If this is the case as an emergency measure use a bucket for discharge and monitor till resolved.
