Leak on an exposed Victorian shower mixer

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

Hi, I have an exposed thermostatic shower mixer. It is a Victorian design style. There is a hot water arm on the left if the unit and a cold water one on the right. Similar to this...https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/trafalgar-traditional-dual-exposed-thermostatic-shower-valve?campaign=googlebase&gclid=CJC_0sfZktACFQaeGwodRvYELA There is a leak coming from the cold water arm. Not the connection with the wall but rather the section after the 90degree be d (the arm as I am describing it) before it gets to the main unit. The leak is originating from the main unit and is being pushed backwards and there is a 1mm gap around the arm section that joins the main unit. The drip / leak is coming from there. Any ideas what's wrong, what needs to be done?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi there, these units normally have a rubber seal that sits inside the fitting, this may need replacing or could be solved via some PTFE tape. You will need to remove the valve to do so. Hope this helps.
