Gas Work Question

Our freestanding gas cooker is connected via a flexible hose, which is squished up against the back of the cooker when we put it in position- is that ok?

Squished doesn,t fill me with confidence. You would normally expect it to be pushed back to the wall. The manufacturers instructions will give you specific measurements for the position your Bayonett connection should be in.
(the fitting that your flexible hose connects to) whitch would then place the hose in the correct position, hanging freely downwards and not trapped by any device etc.

If in any doubt get a gas safety certificate done.

Kind regards
