Should i add carpet to loft flooring?

i have just used legs to increase my loft flooring over the top of my fibreglass (roll) insulation. I have quite a bit of carpet left from carpeting bedrooms - is there any reason why i should or shouldn't cover the loft boards in them?

A carpet adds comfort to a room and finishes it to acompany decor and furniture.

It has very little in the way of insulation, will get dusty and not really serve any purpose....bin it - If it us in the loft then it is usually not going to be used again.
