Skips not workable after quotation given
Hi - our build saga has hit an issue that the quotation was formulated with skips being used.
Now we (builder and I ) find that council will not allow skips on pavement, and skip company will not deliver to drive as it is too narrow and road is too busy...
We have quotation and the standard contract - is the non-workable issue with skips an issue the builder should have been able to realise during a careful inspection prior to quoting? (cl.4 for the small works contract...)
The muck-away invoice is a shocker for me as the client....
The service that my company offer when cases like this appear is that we take the waste away daily in our vans and dispose of it in the skip that I have on my own driveway 24/7.
This way you can keep disposal costs to a minimum with the customer and just charge them for the space in the skip that was used.
Also make sure that they have a waste carriers licence.
