Hi I am having a new roof fitted but one of the original purlins has got a bit of sag in it so am going to replace it here are the details the span is 5.2 metres supported on brickwork the joists and roof beams are 350mm centres the pitch is approx. 37/40 degrees and the tiles will be double romans instead of rosemarys I was thinking of putting a 225 x 75 (9x3) c24 as there is only a 175x75 at present will this be OK with regards to building control cheers

You will need a greater size than that building regulations have amended since the original purlin was placed, you would require 300x100mm to satisfy building control
