New fence next to new pavement
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.13 PM
The council has just built a pavement next to my property, I live on a country road, there was only a pavement on the other side of the road. I want to put up 6ft panel fences to stop the public looking In to what is the side of my property/garden. Am I permitted to do so?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes, as long as it is not over 6ft and on your property your more than entitled too.

No, boundary fences can only be up to 1m height within 2m of the highway, highway means pavement and grass verges along a highway, so within 2m distance of a highway you can only go up to 1m in height.
You could plant some quick growing trees, these are less likely to be complained about
