Fusing down for lighting

Hi I am fitting some garden lights and am going to spur off of a ring main. The remote switch gear is protected by 10 amp fuses so would I still need to spur down between the socket and switch gear.

This work would have to be carried out by a approved electrician.

The answer is yes it should be fused down, but as above any work outside of a house should be carried out by a registered electrician. Saying that if you had a socket installed outside the house you could plug anything you like into that socket it then becomes a portable appliance.
