Sewage & soil pipes

Hello we hope you can help, we have an extension to the back of our house we cannot see a drain however the sewage pipe goes into what looks like a small clay hole and the waste etc into a second clay hole, there is also a manhole cover below the cabin which is accessible through a hatch in the cabin floor, the extension was done in 1985. Are these drains in line with building regulations etc? We are about to sell our house and wondered if this would pose a problem?
Many thanks

Pam
