Electric shower to thermostatic valve shower
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.56 PM
Hi we are looking at renovating our bathroom and would like to remove our old electric shower and update with a thermostatic valve shower, (it has a large overhead shower head and a shower on bar) will this be a big job to do?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It depends on what a 'big job' means to you? You would have to take a bit of the wall down where the shower is to get the plumbing done for thermostatic shower. Then you would have to get new plaster board and tiles on that place. In terms of the time I would say it could take about 2 days.

Best undertaken by an experienced fitter. Check existing flow rates and pressure to see if these are OK for manufacturers minimum requirements. Some shower heads require 2 bar min pressure.

Not as part of a bathroom renovation :-) do you have a combi boiler, as these showers require decent pressure to operate properly, otherwise you may need to consider fitting a shower pump
good luck
