Loft Conversions Question

Loft conversion for storage only

Hello. My house is 1950s 3-bedroom semi. Can anyone give some basic info on costs etc if I wanted to make the loft suitable for storage only. I don't need a ladder, lighting or windows. thanks

with the age of the house the ceilings could be old lath and plaster. If this is the case I wouldn't use the loft as storage as the 1st floor ceilings will crack with the slightest bit of movement. Usually for storage the ceiling is cross braced in the loft with 3x2 or 4x2 to clear and wires or pipework and this helps to distribute the weight better and also leaves 100ml cavity for insulation, 18 ml flooring laid on top of this for the storage platform.
but please check the ceilings 1st as I guarantee you they will crack/collapse over time.
