Cooker hood insterlation

how much to install a cooker hood up to the back of a double plug socket in kitchen

2 Answers from MyBuilder Electricians

It will need a switched fused spur installing as the cable can't just run from the extractor to the socket. In order to comply with BS7671:2008 an isolation switch with a suitable fuse to protect the cable and fan is required. You can just put a plug on the cooker hood cable and plug in to the double socket. That is if you don't mind seeing the cable. The switch for the plug is then the isolator.
