How to fit window locks?

Hi, I wonder if you can help. I am currently in the process of buying a house which has double glazed upvc windows. They're in really good condition, but the only thing is that they don't have built in locking mechanisms like most windows seem to, you just pull the handle down and a little notch stops the window from opening. So my question is, how do I fit locks? And how much money am I likely to be looking at spending? I'm concerned about security and also safety as I have three very small children who could easily open a window and fall out. Any information would be very much appreciated! Thanks

Hi there , there is possibly a range of options available . a cheap solution would be window restrictors which are quite cheap .

These are usaully fitted to stop young children falling out of windows.

I assume you have cockspur handles you can also change these for lockable ones , but not advisable upstairs or fire escape window etc incase you lose the keys.

Let me know if this helps or you want to explore further options
Kind regards
