Gas Work

Move outside gas meter

A customer of mine is having a porche built and the out side gas meter i right in the way. This needs to be moved. Roughly how much would this cost to move about 500mm to one side? Also does this have to stay outside or can it be put internally on the inside of the porch?

For the the Meter to be moved , you will need your local Gas Supplier to move the Meter to where you wish it relocated (which can be inside), then you will need a Gas Safe Enigineer to pipe up the Gas supply to the property. Cost I would imagine would be about £700.00 altogeather.

Hi, the meter has to be moved by your supplier and could be moved inside to an appropriate cupboard. However, you need to be mindful that they will only fit the gas meter but you would be responsible for the civils/ builders work, i.e creating the new cabinet location and trench if required. Fitting is generally around £800.00

Hope this helps
