Lost certificate for underfloor heating in lounge and bedrooms
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.10 PM
We laid our underfloor heating several years ago and paid to have an electrician certificate it. We are selling the flat now and I cannot find the certificate. But from reading on here, it seems we should have then received a second certificate from building compliance? Which I'm certain we didn't. Will a Competant person be able to come and re certify the installation? We're in Swindon and it's in three rooms. Thank you in advance

No the job had to be notified to building control within 14 days of being completed. The only legal way to get a Part P building regulation certificate now is to pay for retrospective part p building regulation consent from your local authority (Circa £300). Once they visit if the work is up to standard and safe they will issue you with a compliance certificate.
Alternatively you can take a gamble and get a dodgy certificate but be aware that you can be fined up to £5000, so the legal route is the best way!
