Moving a bathroom from downstairs to upstairs

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

Hi We live in a 3-up 3-down, where the rooms upstairs are identical in location and size to the rooms downstairs. We wish to move the bathroom to the room directly above it, with all utensils in the exact same place in the room. The boiler and airing cupboard are already in this upstairs room (which is the main reason for us considering moving the bathroom upstairs). Is this something that can be done easily?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi all & everyone. bathrooms & toilets can be moved up or down stairs it really depends on price, some are quite easy, others not so.

Hi there, Yes, you can do, but not so easy as sounds like. First of all, you need to investigate if the current piperwork is on the way to install the sanitaryware, then you have to identify how you are going to conect the waste pipe. Also, if it's a cast iron outside pipe (old one) you have to consider to replace it for PVC ones. Despite of these facts, it's possible to build a beautiful bathroom upstairs.
