Replacing wall lights with ceiling lights

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.04 PM

Hello, I have 4 wall lights in the lounge which I would like to replace with two ceiling lights. Can you please let me know how long work such like this one takes? Thank you for your answers. It's a house therefore there is an access through the floorboards in the room above the lounge. Thank you

Providing you can get the floorboards up easily in the room above the lounge then it should be possible to cut the wall light wiring off and re-route the cables/rewire to the centre of the room for ceiling lights. If its a flat roof extension or a ground/midfloor flat (i.e. where you cant access the ceiling void from above) then it would mean causing quite a bit of damage to the ceiling or taking the ceiling completely down, altering the wiring and then re-boarding with new plasterboard and then plastering over.

depending on access to ceiling void I would anticipate works to be easily accomplished in a day or less
