Hi All you need is to pva glue then re-skim the walls. If you want to take the artex off the walls all you need to do is wet it with warm water and scrape it off with a paint scraper it will make a mess as it goes soft again I hope this helps George Alexander G.S.A Plastering & Painting

If the artex is of a low profile it can be easily skimmed over without any problem if is is a deep pattern it may need a few coats

If the Artex is shallow then why disturb it? Plasterer can go straight over it. Scott.

It is best to leave it alone and skim straight over the top of it. If it is thick artex a bonding coat can be applied firstly to flattern it off.
