Roofing Question

How do i get a tradesman to provide an honest inspection report, for which i am happy to pay

Risk is the tradesman will say the whole thing is in a very bad state and needs complete replacement without delay, when this is not true and I can't get on the roof myself to check the fact.

Post as a job, invite three or four roofers to inspect and report, find the common ground and compare the prices

Best way to get an honest evaluation is to pay one tradesman for an independent evaluation. Making sure that he is very aware that it will not be his company undertaking the work....... Chances are he might charge you more for the time but at least he will have no gain from being dishonest .

I would seek advice from three reputable companies and take in the three quotes looking at how they differ! Thats if they do.
Also if you have any questions or concerns just ask and im sure they will give you good positive answers.

Why not put a advert on Mybuilder with the thought that you need a free Survey undertaken? Im sure you could and would find a honest Roofer that will give you a true and correct estimate for works.

Good Luck.

your best solution is to get a local quality surveyor to inspect and provide a report which may cost £200 - £300 you can then pass this to 3 traders to quote from, this way all will be quoting for the same thing and there will be no arguement as to what is to be done.
