Immersion heater noise (boiling / bubbling sounds)

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 2.49 PM

Hi, I had my boiler replaced 2 weeks ago, its a Worcester 30cdi system boiler. When the hot water comes on in the morning, there is a lot of noise (boiling/bubbling sounds immediately) from the immersion tank and generally around the system. Any ideas? The guy who placed the boiler thinks it's the immersion tank needs replacing but the noise only started after the boiler replacement, and when I use the electric to heat the immersion tank I don't get the same noise. Any advice would be appreciated.

There should be a manual air vent on top of the flow pipework that connects to the top fitting of your cylinder heat exchanger, try bleeding any air out first when the boiler is off and set your timer/programmer to call for heat & hot water first. Also bleed all radiators of air in your home as well. You need to start with basic causes first.
