Fitting curtains in new build without drilling into the lintels
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.05 PM
We recently moved into a new build and were advised not to drill into the lintels in order to fit curtain poles. We were told to put batons or a plank of wood with no more nails and drill into that. Some say it will work, others don't think it will. What do you think?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Basically you will be relying on a layer of emulsion paint to bear the weight of the timber baton/curtain track/curtains and the abuse of pulling those curtains open/closed on a daily basis. Would you really put your money on that working?
