Grouting lines too dark
I have layed out the floor tiles but dont like the color the grouting lines. Is there anything I can do about it?
Hi, you can buy grouting pens, which are a cheap fix for your problem but however NOT recommended especially on a floor as this would ware quickly and prob need regular attention. Not to mention this is a DIY bodge for the particular issue.
The best solution for this is unfortunately the painstaking task of digging out the existing grout and re-grouting with a more desired color.
The difficulty in digging out the existing grout can very much depend on the brand of grout used, a lesser quality grout will be easy enough to dig out with a grout removal tool (found in any tiling shop) by hand but a grout such as Mapei will be much more difficult but can be done using a mini grinder but will be obviously messy and you have to be VERY careful not to cut into the tiles, especially so on ceramic tiles where you have a high probability of chipping the glaze.
Using a multi tool with a tile blade on would be much slower but will reduce the risk of damaging the tiles.
I hope you found this useful.
