Condensation problem in conservatory

Anonymous user 14 March 2024 - 2.32 PM

I have a 3 by 4 metre conservatory I wall is breeze block (cavity filled with kingsspan) and the other 2 are windows and doors the roof is polycarbonate it is 5-6 years old but this year I seem to having problems with condensation. I have hardly used it this year it is off my kitchen and my doors are closed mostly, my blinds have mould growing on them. I have got a radiator in there, not sure whether a window open a small amount would help or put a calor gas heater in there as well - I would very much value a tradesman's opinion on this please -- thank you

Hi Any room that is left unseated will condensate in the winter, this is true of spare bedrooms as well. You need to ensure that the room is aired correctly with some background heating on a thermostat, ideally your roof should be glass, this greatly reduces the problem as it maintains a constant heat rather than loosing any heat generated through the roof panels Hope this helps
