How to remove gloss from slate tiles?

Hi Because it's an uneven tile, one solution obv depending on how much paint is on the tiles, to use a pin prick motion with sharp needle/nail on the paint so it pierces/breaks the paint surface, then get cotton wool soaked in white spirit an lay on top, for a few hours to soften the paint. If it works remove the rest with a rag and some spirit, then wash thoroughly, use safety goggles and gloves when handling white spirit.

You may be able to use modern paint removers which should NOT damage the surface of the tile but if you start poking with sharp objects you could end up damageing the tiles. After it has been cleaned off remember to reseal the tiles.
