Gas Work Question

Worcester aluminium and vaillant stainless steel heat exchanges

I have always had a Worcester boiler but have now been told by a gas / plumber that Vaillant are better as they have a stainless steel heat exchange compared to the Worcester aluminium heat exchange so are more reliable.

I am looking to fit a new combi to run shower and 9 radiators in a 3 bed semi and would like to know most suitable boiler to fit that would give a good powerful shower.

Worcester Bosch guarantee their heat exchangers for 10 years, so no need for concern there despite being aluminium alloy.

Without having seen your property to carry out a heat loss calculation I would guess a 25KW combi would suit your purposes, either W-B or Valliant, both decent built boilers. As for running your shower off the boiler you might want to reconsider, if your boiler fails then potential no heat or hot water. Suggest you fit an electric shower, so if you lose the boiler you can still shower!
