Did you prime the floor before tiling? And if you mean Wickes powered tile adhesive, this should have been fine (it's not the best). The floor must be clean of dust and then primed with SBR not PVA, SBR can be purchased from any tile outlet or builders merchants. Using pva there is a well known fact that this stuff breaks down in time and is not to be used, pva is not fit for purpose, stick to sbr which all pro tilers use.

Defo sounds like to much debris and dust on the floor if they are not sticking, could also be that you have mixed the adhesive to dry...as for not using pva, it works fine.
Take them up, prime the floor and try again, I would use a better adhesive as well. Try unibond floor and wall adhesive, BAL flexible floor adhesive or Topps trade floor adhesive, all will do a good job.
