Windows Question
Will the window fitter also be able to do brick work?
Hi,
We have just bought a house and want the windows in the front room changed as the front window is a full length one (70's style!) and the back one is a pretty small one half way up the wall. We want a bay window on the front and, not 100% sure yet but patio doors on the back. I am thinking of getting second hand windows so we just need them fitted. Will a window fitter be able to do the whole job, i.e. brick up the front and then put the bay window in and make a space in the back for the full length patio doors or do I need a builder and a window fitter?
Also one more question regarding windows, we have a massive sofa which we do not think we can get in the house. Can we have the window taken out for a few hours when we move in and then put back in?
Thanks,
Jo.

Hi I would try and get your sofa in when you take out the old bay window, once it's in you won't want to take it out again. I would suggest you get a bricklayer to have a look what needs doing, as I doubt many window fitters do brickwork, unless you go with a company who covers all trade aspects.
