Laying a patio on a sloping garden

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 2.45 PM

Hi people, I'm looking to extend the patio on my garden, and I'd be grateful for some advice. My garden slopes down at one side, and I'm looking to extend the patio over this area - I believe I'm going to need some kind of retaining wall on the lowest side in order to do so, but after getting a few quotes from builders and landscape gardeners I'm getting very different opinions, ranging from vertical pavers to small brick walls. This photo shows the slope: http://imgur.com/ssLyCMT In your opinion, what do you think would be my best option? Many thanks! Joe

After the picture I have seen . I would dig the area out level and replace the soil taken out with a type one crushed concrete. Which is around £10-£20 per tonne. Then lay slabs on top of the crushed concrete. Hope this helps.

Hi. Vertical pavers would be fine for that small height. They will be your cheapest option too. Other options would be a wall, sleepers, nice edgings set in concrete. Rick
