Plumbing Question

Replacing bath taps to one with shower head

Is it easy to replace bath taps with a bath/shower mixer? Is it better to get a plumber out? I have looked at taps (so much choice!!) picked a thermostatic one...does it require anything specific or can I just replace old with the new?

the mixer tap should fit in place of the taps but I would advise against attempting to do this yourself unless you are competent and have all the correct tools, these jobs vary between straight forward to very difficult even for the tradespeople who do these all of the time and the last thing you need is a leak or to be without water, regards Terry.

It's not that difficult to replace taps if you are ok at diy and have the
the right tools, one thing to take into consideration is the amount of pressure required.

For a shower if you was to use it standing up, you may have limited pressure when fixed to the wall, you can get extra long hoses.
If you are on a combi then no problems.
