Windows Question

Failed seal in double glazed windows. how do i find out the manufacturer?

Hi there, about a year after moving the seals failed for the UPVC double glazing windows in the house upstairs. Condensation and some marks have appeared between the panes. I can't find any distinguishing marks to determine who the manufacturer is. Is there a way of finding out this information from the windows somehow as they may have a guarantee of some sort on them?

the only guarantee you will have would be a written one, now owners have to give all relevant information to there solicitor to be checked and handed over to the new owners.
you have 2 chances of getting the company to rectify the units
1 if they are still under there manufactures warranty
and 2 if they are a member of the ggf and fensa.
a lot of companies will say there double glazing does NOT have a transferable warranty.
But if they are a member of fensa and ggf the rules say they have to be transferable
if they argue then you can take it to the ggf and fensa
the only other thing is the companies dont realise that we have to offer transferable warranties but only if they are with fensa and ggf.
