Central Heating Question

Re: ketterling noise

I have a Potterton profile 60e with a Megaflow cylinder and a 9400c programmer .The system is working fine but when the boiler is on ,there appears to be noise of some suspension in the system. I have flushed the system with its cleaner (sentinal) and also a reverse water pressure from the mains water from the drain cock, this has been done several times by adding inhibitor each time as each time it airlocked when this was done .

Now the system is working fine but just worried about the noise in the boiler. Any advice will be appreciated. Is it on the last verge before it breaks down? Can I add fernox or sentinal descaler to rectify the problem and will it remove all of it ?

I would suggest inviting a heating engineer around to advice, as the problem of 'kettling' is still present. If you are not happy with their advice then ask another heating engineer for a second opinion, as your own DIY efforts have not been successful!

You need to get a gas engineer to turn down the burner pressure needs to be on about 8mb or 9mb this will fix the problem.
