Bathroom Fitting Question

Hygiene in the bathroom?

I am due a mutual exchange (council) soon, the toilet is separated from the bath and sink... someone has mentioned rules for having a facility to wash your hands after visiting the toilet should be in the same room. Has the regulations changed? Can I demand (ask the council politely) the bathroom to be opened up or install a basin (no room)...

Thanks APPLE CONSTRUCTION.... not sure how to reply you lol. Will have to think of a good excuse why the council 'should' 'need' 'must' open the room up! Any ideas will be welcome

PAUL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> where will I find this new regulation on the net? Ive searched for days and I cant find it! thanks Sue x

Thanks Paul, just sent them an email....knowing the council will give me an excuse not to spend money on the property to do it! Even tho the decent homes should bring it up to spec, this will be my next argument with them.... ;) thanks

Hi, yes i believe there should be a basin in the same room as the toilet, this is the regulation for a new install at present so may be for you.

Hi Sue call your local council office and ask for building control office (building inspectors) they will tell you the regs in your area for definite.
