Painting & Decorating Question

Wallpaper and paint?

I'm looking to update my house before September. I'm thinking of stripping all the walls myself. Is it best to wallpaper then paint to get a neater finish? How long will it take to complete all rooms?

Yes its best to wallpaper first. should only take you a few months.

The order in which I would decorate after the paper has been stripped would be:
Ceiling first
Then the walls
Followed by satinwood or gloss for the woodwork
Then if wallpapering a feature wall you should do that last. Reason being that if you were to paper first there is a chance of getting fine spray onto the new wallpaper which is best avoided. Its also more difficult to gloss skirtings if the paper has already gone up.
Hope that helps, Paul
