Roofing Question

Fascia/soffiit drip

I had re-roof job done a few months ago. The fascia and soffit was also replaced. After a few weeks I noticed a drip onto a window from the fascia/soffit. The builder fixed it by re-doing the underlay nearest the fasci/soffit. I asked if the water was coming from the gutters, and he said no. I then asked him where it was coming from, and he claimed he did not know. I am wondering if it is possible I have a leak somewhere e.g. the ridge-tiles, but the reseated underlay is now draining it to the gutter?

Thanks for the reply, Mansfield. Have you any tips on how I could trace where the leak is coming from?

You have a leak in the roof , water is running down the felt and now into the gutter, you need to find where the water is entering the roof

Sounds like the old fascias may have been left in place and clad over with new. This means the guttering is now 9-17mm further out and rainwater may be running down the tiles and missing the gutters. May be worth getting this checked out - ask if the old fascias were removed, if not you may need to install eaves protectors.

Ideally all old and perished fascia boards should be removed before new are fitted.
