Plumbing Question

Combi boiler

Does a combi boiler need to be boxed in? if yes then why... Thank you for taking the time to reply..

Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply. I have just had a combi boiler fitted in a downstairs cloakroom, the boxing in consists of floor to ceiling cupboard and he now tells me that I can't have a handwash basin in the room! I was away when he did this and it wasn't discussed first. he is telling me it is legislation. I expect it's to hide some ugly pipe work.

No a combi or any other boiler doesn't need to be boxed in there also needs to be certain distances away from the boiler if you was to box in, also you would need to be able to get to it for servicing and maintaining
