About William Burnand Carpentry
From 2005 I worked for cabinet makers in London as well periods of site work at this time. I started to take on private work in 2007 whilst working part time and by the end of 2007 became self employed. The nature of the work I do is varied from the construction and installation of french doors, windows, stairs to stud/joist work and the construction of alcove cupboards/cabinets and shelves. I have also made one off pieces of furniture. All the work taken over this period has been for private clients and has been on recommendation.
City and Guilds Foundation Construction Award, City and Guilds Intermediate Construction Award, NVQ Level 2 Site Carpentry Award, NVQ Level 2 Bench Joinery Award and City and Guilds Level 2 Wood Machinist Award.
Guild Of Master Craftmen Member I am a City and Guilds/NVQ qualified site carpenter, bench joiner and wood machinist. My apprenticeship was with cabinet makers in London. Since qualifying I have set up my own business, working in all areas of carpentry from fine detail furniture making, to site work which includes stud walls, door linings, joist work etc. Bench Joinery: building doors, windows, stairs including installation. A lot of the work I do involves building fitted units for alcoves such as book shelves and cabinets. I have a good working knowledge of appropriate materials and project management. Before qualifying as a carpenter I spent a great deal of time on site as a painter and decorator.
