I own a small property that I rent out, the external back door is wooden and was protected by a further external "wooden storm doors".
For some reason the tenant removed the storm door a few years back and now the remaining external wooden back door has deteriorated and needs replacing.
We have two items to be fixed, one is a leak at the guttering end/stop. Even if it raining lightly the water drips from the end. If the rain is heavy it comes over the end piece. I think the end bit needs replacing, but a neighbough suggested that the gutter may fall the wrong way.
We do have...

We have bought a house that has had an extension. The roof void is not accessible from the main loft hatch. We have found out the extension room does not have any loft insulation. Therefore we require a quote to add a loft hatch into the bedroom so the room can be insulated.
A separate quote...

We have had a bathroom face-lift, we have purchased a chrome towel-type radiator, we need it fixing into the existing space of the old radiator. The new one is the same width as the old, but is taller. New valves also come with the radiator.
The central heating is gas.

I live in a new build (10 years old) detached barratt house, it's not that big.
When it rains hard the water flows down the walls over the gutters. From one on the downpipes I only ever see a trickly of water coming down, even when it's raining hard.
I'd like all the gutters and downpipes...

I'm not sure if I should replace in wood or move over to white uPVC, as all our windows have already been moved over to uPVC.
Can anyone give me an indication of the pros/cons of wooden v upvc?
In our living room we have a ceiling rose with pendant style light handing down from the rose We're looking to change the ceiling light? It's a straight replacement, in the same place.
Is it legal for me to attempt this myself? or do I need to get an electrical so they can notify the council under pat P etc?
