About Walkden Bricklaying
1992 to 1995. I left school in 1992 and went straight into a 3 year Bricklaying apprenticeship at Huddersfield Technical collage. I did my apprenticeship whilst working for a small father and son building company on block release, and later day release. Its here I was taught about many aspects of the building trade other than just bricklaying. this is where I learnt about having pride in the quality of my work over just production. if I am going to put my name to a job I want it to be perfect for the customer.
1995 to 1997, worked as a general demolition worker for Pennine Demolition, Huddersfield.
1997 to 2000, Marlborough Brickworks Ltd, Leeds. (subcontractor Bricklayer)
some jobs I worked on whilst with this company are, Panasonic stand at the Huddersfield football ground. Fitness first at Waterloo Huddersfield, Tesco’s superstore in Seacroft Leeds.
2000 to 2008, DPJ Construction Ltd, Harrogate. (subcontractor Bricklayer)
some jobs I worked on with this company are . Kingsgate shopping centre, Huddersfield. Novotel hotel Leeds. Moldgreen infants school Huddersfield. Rowan Bank health centre Huddersfield.
2008 to present day. Work for myself solely doing smaller domestic jobs like garages, garden walls, patios and extensions etc.
