About Thomas Jowett

My working history has been solely on the joinery industry, however I have seen many aspects of it. I started as a general builder, working for a company as an apprentice where I learned joinery basics while acquiring skills such as plaster boarding.
Once qualified I moved to shopfitting where I excelled, and honed my skills to a different type of joinery where speed, accuracy and good finishing is imperative. I then proceeded to bench joinery where my keen eye for detail and efficiency came into play. I enjoyed making one off furniture items in this role, but also worked in tune with other employees to achieve maximum productivity.
I then proceeded to maintenance joinery where I needed to think of practical solutions on the spot, while working alongside other trades, and learning from them. I enjoyed expanding my skills further, into tiling, and decorating in this position, while keeping my joinery skills sharp. I am now looking to start a new leaf, where I can choose jobs that I will enjoy, and offer a personal touch to my work.

I am qualified to NVQ level 2 and was unable to complete level 3 due to work commitments taking me away from home. However I am 8 years time served.
I have asbestos awareness certification and CSCS skilled worker accreditation in joinery
