About nick rowsell stonecraft
My work includes all different types of brickwork from specialized Victorian/Edwardian 5mm bonding to current day half bond coursework. Also random bond stonewalling, dry and bonded. I am a fully qualified architectural banker mason with much experience.
I design and lay patios. Also landscape architecture specializing in terracing split levels.
Also I renovated inglenook fireplaces by masoning the ages of paint and glue residue left on the stone by past 'improvements'. The fireplace projects include old range type fireplaces that Clients like to see fully opened up back to the natural specifications to which they were originally intended. This service includes a brick or stone base so as to install a woodburner.
I also carve stone to commission to a fine art standard. Much of this aspect of my repertoire is on internationally acclaimed websites.
My attitude, no matter how big or small the job is to listen to the client so the outcome is exactly what is desired; I dont do shocks or surprises.
I also undertake specialist masonry projects such as Insitu lettercutting, including all recognised fonts from Lower Germanic Gothic to Upper Roman Case.
I also specialize in Heraldic masonry. The elements of which include pageantry emblems, symbols and insignias featured in Coats of Arms ect.
Decorative Ecclesiastical masonry such as 'fully channelled' gargoyles, pinnacles, crosses and tracery is a service I can also supply.
My Banker Masonry repertoire includes The five Orders of Masonry.
Tuscan, Doric, Corinthian, Ionic & Composite (or Roman.)
I can offer expertise in the most intricate and complex aspects of stone carved mouldings, from Corinthian capitals with Acanthus leaf with Egg & Darts & Ionic vollutes to fully moulded ball finials of any size and description; infact 3D carving of any design and specification.
All work is hand finished and signed with my registered masons mark.
I considered it a professional duty to provide work, whatever work; that is both attractive and safe.
My client lead underlying ethos is to add to the general whole of a property and not to detract from it.
Award winning Nick Rowsell Stonecraft, with over 30 years experience, offers a full and comprehensive stone and brick service which comes complete with a vision to match the expertise.
P.N. The award mentioned is the Hexham Courant Small business Accelerator award for 2012.
