About Artisanman Home & Garden

While working for my families construction business, I picked up the basics of multiple trades, along with a good work ethic and a critical eye when surveying my finished work projects, after initially choosing brickwork as my trade of choice, completing a level 2NVQ in Brickwork at Grahame Park college North London and Having had limited experience of commercial site work as a bricklayer, I was employed as an improver by a bricklaying contractor, generally correcting faults in brickwork, raking out and pointing, core drilling and other tasks.
During this time my Brother needed help assisting him with a large commercial plastering job and soon I picked up the trowel and after 2 years of onsite training and developing my skills, spent the next 15 years working as a plastering/dry lining subcontractor in some of London's most recognisable buildings like the Gherkin, The Great Eastern Hotel, Kings College and many others. Since relocating outside of London and suffering a work-related injury, being unable to ply my trade and with few contacts in the area I took a maintenance contract with a Large grounds maintenance company that required me to maintain the grounds and buildings within the Churches and cemeteries in St Albans and surrounding areas. Every aspect of grounds maintenance including ride-on mowing, fine turf care, planting, pruning, weeding, hedge cutting, tree work and soft landscaping, also maintaining the buildings and seating areas as and when required were my responsibilities as the supervisor of a small but dedicated team that won awards for our work. Having become more established in Hertfordshire and being fully recovered, it wasn't long before I found myself taking on small plastering, decorating and general maintenance jobs for new friends and acquaintances and people they recommended me to, along with some sub-contracted painting and decorating work through large contractors such as Bell Group Ltd and eventually where I am today undertaking a wide variety of projects, maintaining and improving homeowners inside and outside spaces. I'm very hard working and always try to offer the most cost-effective solutions to customers but won't compromise on the quality of work. I'm happy to price a job or work on a day rate if all the correct materials and reasonable access to the site are supplied by the homeowner.
