  • Rebuilding of hamstone driveway pillars

Ray is an experienced stonemason and the quality was excellent. No job was too small and attention to detail present in every aspect of his work. I would thoroughly recommend him.

  • Stone repair to front of house

So, we were originally after a quote for a small stone repair to the front of our house. Raymond's quote was favourable to the other tradesperson that responded. In addition he recommended that we strip the paint of the vertical & horizontal stone bars framing the render. He provided a quote for this also and did say that once he used paint remover to take off the top layer it may be necessary to then sand back and this would cost more. As these things go, we also needed the sanding to be done!! Because our job then needed more doing it then took longer than originally anticipated. Raymond worked hard to complete work for which scaffolding was necessary before going off to undertake other scheduled projects. Once he had finished this he came back and completed the work at ground floor level. We are pleased with the work done, communication etc. and would have him back if we needed to have more stone work renovated.

  • cutting a worktop

I would definitely recommend Raymond, he knew his stuff was very knowledgeable, don’t hesitate to ask him for a quote.

  • Bathstone Cleaning and Restoration

Raymond has done a fantastic job restoring the bathstone in my Bristol townhouse. He was very hardworking, quick, polite and delivered what he said he would at a very reasonable price.

He also repointed the black stone on the front of the house to a very high standard.

I would definitely recommend him for stonemasonry projects.

  • internal building works

Through this "gentleman" out of my house after promising to finish the job,we paid, then excuse after excuse why he couldnt finish work. When he finally turned up and started knocking down THE WRONG WALL,and then speaking to me like i was a child, enough!!!! Again knocking down a wall without protecting the area! Stay away from this guy, hes "unglued"

    Morthanstone's reply:

There was only one wall I was asked to remove in the kitchen of the customers two bedroom semi detached house. This was not a property of many levels and of numerous rooms where confusion existed for removing this wall. Both Mr and Mrs Harrison were at home over the duration of two days when I successfully and safely removed this non load bearing wall allowing extension of their kitchen space. They then paid me £500 for this part of the work.
However I did create dust, while cutting and preparing a doorway to be blocked off. I did apologise for this. I could not continue this work until Wednesday and I informed Mr Harrison of this delay on Monday evening. I did not want to continue this work on Wednesday because of Mrs Harrison

  • Restoring outdoor window sills at front of house

Raymond took great care and attention to restore the stonework at the front of our house and did a very good job. We are extremely pleased. He brought the stone back to life and the front of our Edwardian terrace house back to its former glory.

  • Positive Client Reference taken by MyBuilder

Raymond has done a couple of jobs for me, he did the capping on my chimney and prepared some level gauges on the outside of a building. I am quite pleased with it, he has a good work ethic and seemed quite knowledgable. He knows his craft. I would use him again and can recommend him.

Raymond Lee did two jobs for us, the first was a stone plaque for the front of the house with the house's name on it, the second was a fireplace surround and mantel. His work is very nice, I had a pretty definite idea of what I wanted and he managed to make it real. He built them in his workshop then came back on schedule to install them and it's all as good as gold. I would use him and again and would recommend him.
