1972-75 Apprentice trained, City & Guilds qualified bricklayer. 1975 - 2008 worked for family business(estab.1922) -bricklaying, stone work,pointing,flagging,concreting,dry stone walling,wall ties,plastering, extensions, house new build, refurbishment(including on listed buildings) & general repairs & maintenance. Took over business in 1992 as a working Director. Continued the business as main contractors working for Local Health Authorities, County Councils, commercial & domestic properties employing around 15 people at the time.Attended all meetings with Architects,Clerk of Works and Clients, reading all relevant drawings & submission of formal tenders and providing written quotations for all jobs, large or small, invoicing upon satisfactory completion.Developed a back problem & had to stop work in 2008 and fold business but went on to have an operation which was a success and am now looking for work. Would ideally like pointing, bricklaying, general repairs & maintenance, including for small garden landscaping.
Apprentice trained 1972-75 and City & Guilds qualified.
Fully time served on large projects, including refurbishment and new build through to the small property repairs & maintenance side.
Mentor to two Apprentices on the Apprenticeship Scheme.
