Mark came at short notice with his workmate, they worked throughout the day but they seemed to be rushing to get the job finished. I'd received the wrong kitchen cupboard so needed to wait for a replacement. Mark said he'd only want to come back 1 more time to complete asked for the payment for the first day upfront. After day 1 they left a lot of mess to clean up, parts and fittings thrown on the lawn and rubbish left in the garden, they couldn't be bothered putting rubbish in the wheelie bin which I left by the back door with the lid open. I'd noticed the sink unit was out of alignment and the corner post had been cut roughly. The corner posts didn't come preassembled but came as 2 lengths of wood which had to be cut lengthways.I was concerned as it is evident they can't cut wood in a straight line. The end of the worktop was not straight either. Should be a simple job even for someone purporting to be a joiner! The other end of the worktop not square when adjacent worktop is in place. I thought I'd give them a chance to complete the job, and fix any snags that had occurred during day 1

On day 2 I wrote two brief notes highlighting the main issues to correct and I spoke briefly and politely to Mark explaining a couple things need sorting and the cupboard had arrived. I went back in the living room and saw their van speed off into the mist. The'd vanished without saying a word, over 3 hours later I text them, didn't reply to my text. Never to be seen or heard of again.

    MC Joiners's reply:

    Hi James,
Im really sorry your feel this way, to my understanding i finished 80% of your kitchen got 50% paid and waited for over two weeks for the wall cupboard to come.

After few weeks waiting you told me the night before that the unit has come and can i come tomorrow or next day to finish and i said i couldnt for another two weeks as i was on holiday for 10 days and you just did not believe me or still wasnt happy hence bad feedback two days later.

  • Garage conversion

Very efficient and good quality work, nothing too much trouble. Stuck to the estimated time frame for completion of all works for the Garage conversion, I would not hesitate in hiring Marks Services again. Very happy.

  • Construction of small timber roof

The contractor was very efficient and kept us informed every step of the way, the finished job was excellent and he made sure everything was clean when he left. Would definitely recommend and use him again.
