About Mayfield Roofing

Mayfield Roofing contracts this year alone have encompassed a variety of projects. These have included everything from completely replacing the tiled or slate roofs for several home owners, refelting a flat roof over a row of 5 garages, over-sheeting the asbestos cement roofs of another block of 6 garages, waterproofed a leaking factory roof with an overlay of 200 GRP panels, repairing a number of flat roofs using a range of rubber roof systems and cleaning the gutters of a Victorian Mansion owned by a national charity.
Along with these larger projects, we have happily spent time finding and repairing the troublesome leaks that other contractors gave up on and re bedded the odd loose ridge tile.

Our Managing Director Roy Aylmer spent 10 years working for a London based roofing contractor eventually opening and running their first branch office in Birmingham. His skills and expertise were recognised by the contracts division of Ruberoid the Roofing felt manufacturer who persuaded him to become their technical trouble shooter for The Midlands.
When Ruberoid were taken over by the Tarmac Group in 1984 the plan was to merge the contracts departments of both companies. The inter-office rivalry that ensued was not the sort of problem that Roy liked to deal with, he would rather sort out Roofing Problems.
Without waiting to see if redundancy packages were going to be offered Mr Aylmer decided to start his own company and Mayfield Roofing was born.
Initially refurbishing roofs for factories and high street shops, Mayfield Roofing enjoyed an early success and grew to employ 20 people based at their offices in Northfield, South Birmingham and Roy Aylmer was soon elected to become a ‘Member of The Institute of Roofing.’
When the Recession of the early 1990’s started factories and high street shops suffered and as work slowed it was decided to relocate Mayfield Roofing to premises near Mr Aylmer’s home in Bidford-On-Avon. After the move the company prospered and is still succeeding despite the several recent recessions and credit crunches.
With a leaner staff base and an emphasis on attention to detail Mayfield Roofing is now in a position where we can concentrate on solving peoples roofing problems with “No Pressure, Professional Advice offering detailed and clear findings.” This is backed up with “Excellent and Efficient site work to the Highest Standard” and at all times being “Respectful to the Client throughout the contract” and “always leaving the site clean and tidy at the end of the job.”
The “Quotes” in the last paragraph are real quotes from recent testimonials.
