Nick and his team were very prompt and efficient in dealing with our request to build a new garden fence which fully met our specifications and I would certainly recommend them.

The problem was at my elderly mother's house, some distance from where I live. Within a few hours of posting my request for a builder, Nick had phoned me, visited to view and assess the work required and spoke to me whilst still at the house to talk through the issues. Within a couple of hours, as requested, he provided detailed, itemised quotes for the options we had discussed. Nick's son Liam completed the work, arriving early, sending me photos as the work progressed and completed a very neat job despite having to overcome a few difficulties presented by the unusual construction of the house. My mother, not always easily pleased, was delighted with their work, manner and the clean up which was immaculate. VERY happy with Nicks work. Arrived promptly everyday and did a fantastic job on our garage parapit wall. He replaced the lintel which was originally wood and replaced all of the lead flashing. Having experienced late and shoddy builders in a recent previous job, we searched for builders on this forum with good positive feedback. Nick fitted the bill and arrived on time to quote for the job, good comms between us accepting the quote and Nick starting on site, once a date agreed, arrived on time (to the minute!) to start. The job, a new window lintel being installed has been completed to a high standard, the finish is very neat and the area left clean and tidy. Nicks team worked through appalling weather to get it finished. Very happy with our first experience of using his services and on this basis we have asked Nick to quote for a follow on job.

Although it was a relatively small job it was done well. The quality of the work was good and it was carried out within the agreed time frame with no mucking about. All in all, I was very pleased.

I used Kentish Builders for the first time a few years ago for some repointing work to a Victorian house that I had just purchased in Ramsgate. I was very happy with the work carried out at that time so I had no hesitation in contacting them when my tenant at the same property contacted me to say that bricks above the arched front door had come loose and fallen out. I sent a photo to Nick and he visited the property the same day as it was apparent that the structure was unsafe. He assessed the damage, made safe and provided me with a quote for the repairs explaining what the work entailed. Work was carried out the next day. Nick sent photos of the completed work and cleaned up and removed rubbish from site afterwards. I am very pleased with the service provided, fast response, fair price, very good standard of work and I was kept up to date with all aspects of the job by phone call, text and photos which was very important as I could not be at the property. I cannot recommend Kentish Builders/Nick highly enough.

Having struggled with a leaky window some a while (useless and will never use again window company!!) .... and several attempts to resolve it later ... this builder seems to have done the trick! ... so I can fully recommend!

Nick promptly arranged a visit to estimate job. He sent his quote the same day. He listened to what we wanted and offered sound advice on what could, and couldn’t be done. We didn’t proceed on this occasion, however we’d be very happy to use Nick in the future.

Having been let down by another brick layer, I called Nick in a panic.He visited me the next morning and was honest from the beginning.He told me I would have to push my window installation back (which was in 7 days time) as rushing to fit within a timescale wouldn't result in a quality job.My husband and I had no hesitation in hiring him and he fit us in to start the job 2 days later.He carried out groundwork too which I was so pleased about as my ground worker whom I hired separately was delayed with other jobs. He arrived on time everyday and there were always 2 others with him on site. They were all such nice guys and he kept in touch with me by text. Before I left for work each day they'd already been working for an hour!! Every day whilst I was at work, I received pictures of the work they were doing and I was impressed at the quality of it and so excited to see it take shape. We were quoted a price that came out exact, so we had no nasty surprises. My garden was left neat and tidy at the end (even my mugs were in the washing up bowl!) and I trusted him to lock up for me if I was going to be late. I expected hiring a builder to be a hard task, having never done a big house project before and not knowing anything about the process. Nic & his team worked hard & well. They removed a wall that had been falling down & replaced it. They also found the time to remove old slabs from the garden & replace them with new larger slabs. They removed old raised flower beds and replaced them with new raised beds made of old railway sleepers.This was not part of the original job. Job was to put up a garden fence (concrete posts and gravel boards and wooden fence panels) about 85 ft long. Nick and his team arrived promptly each of the two days and worked like a well oiled machine! Everyone was extremely polite and we felt comfortable having them around. (We didn't hear one swear word the whole time they were on site - unlike some we've had!) Even when they encountered a problem, it was overcome quickly and the resolution was well executed. The finished fence has really enhanced our garden and although we had loads of plants and shrubs that were close to the boundary, not many have suffered. We found Nick on this web site and his excellent feedback made us request a quote. Now the job is finished, it is obvious why he has 100% positive feedback. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed if you hire Nick and his team. Nick did a great job. Within 24hrs of inviting Nick to quote he had visited and provided the quote. We had some additional work done (chimney repointed, smaller pots replacing the old ones and a fireplace lintel installed) It was all done quickly, with no fuss and without any additional cost. Nick did a fantastic job, arrived on time, was trusted with the keys to house while I was at work, friendly and polite throughout and left no mess. The new bricks matched the existing house bricks perfectly and and the bricked up window and extension join can barely be seen now. Extremely happy with his work. Nick was able to advise on other works, and repaired a broken drain for me by replacing the collapsed bricks and providing a new manhole cover and within a day had a skip arrive, took down a section of storm damaged wall that was no longer safe and replaced it with a much improved fence. Nick was also more than happy to fill the skip to the brim with other bits that I no longer needed. I highly recommend Nick and will be using him in future for work!

I am over the moan with the high standard of work completed and the he turned up everyday on time and at the end of the day made sure my garden was left safe and tidy.I felt safe leaving my keys with him and he came across as very honest trust worthy and even changed a few things at no extra charge. The job was completed on time and was on budget.I would recommened nick to my family and friends because of the way he conducted himself. My new wall and path look great .

Nick made a lovely job of repairing a wall at the back of my property. It needed to remain old looking, as the property is listed and I didn't want it to look brand new. Nick knew exactly what to do and it blends in beautifully. They also expertly replaced a rotting window sill which is now looking really good. They arrived early to start the job and worked through. They were excellent at clearing up afterwards. Definately use them again.

A good, slightly fiddely, job well done. This job was about getting it done to make my chimney safe and solid and he's done just that. I appreciated that he did the job in a little less time than planned, and hence the overall cost was accordingly lower too.

Regarding Nick's first appointment, he had a job cancellation and pro-actively turned up at the property to begin work on our wall while we were at work (he didn't need access to the house at that time). Very happy with Nick's work - grinding out damaged pointing, washing out and repointing to seal. He installed 3 additional airbricks and took out a number of damaged bricks, replacing them with new ones. On top of that he helped us out by fixing 2 window seals and repairing part of the front wall that had come loose - without charging extra for it. Great help, carried out the work swiftly and took the time to talk us through what needed doing and why - recommended!

As soon as Nick and his team had finished my garden wall, I was so pleased with the result I felt I had to tell everyone looking for a bricklayer about their high standards and attention to detail.

I had a garden wall built about four years ago by someone claiming to be a bricklayer. As the adverse weather took its toll, it soon became apparent that THE cheapest blocks had been used. The red brick pillars weren't straight and, apart from looking an eyesore, it was obvious this wall was not safe.

I chose Nick because I was fed up with being stung by cowboys - I knew this job would cost me about £5000.00 so I had to have someone with a large feedback....someone I could trust not to rip me off.

When the quotes came in from Nick, not only were they considerably less than £5000.00 but you could tell he knew what he was talking about.

A family friend of a friend in the trade got me the materials and the skips so I only needed Nick's labour. He didn't have a problem with that.

I am very grateful to Nick and his team for all the little extras they did for us.

The wall looks fantastic and I will definitely have Nick back again to do the rest of my paths in due course.

Our garden was a steeply inclined, grassy good-for-nothing space and Nick and his team have successfully turned it into somewhere we intend spending every spare Summer moment in! It feels much larger and much more private and when we get the green stuff in - will be even more wonderful.

The broken wooden fence was replaced by a six foot brick wall - the brickwork is superb.
A two-tiered patio now replaces the grass.
Extra features were added as the project went along - at no extra cost - including a much larger flower bed than originally planned, and a step.

The job ran exactly to schedule and Nick was always on time. For the majority of the project we were out at work during the day and were very happy to give him a key to come and go as needed. The house was cleaned up at the end of each day.

The project raised several difficulties - especially due to the fact that there was no rear access to the garden and MUCH hard graft was involved bringing the materials to the back and carrying 4 skip-loads of soil (!) and waste to the front.

Originally we had thought that a series of drains would mean a 3 tier garden, but very early on, Nick let us know he could make it two tier only - even though this meant a lot more soil removal and adjustment - giving us the much more useable space.

We were always impressed with the care given to how the finished look would be e.g. ensuring the patio slabs were laid so as to be central to the back door, and laying them on cement not just sand; adding the red brick top to the brick wall - because it looks better than all yellow. The extra thought translates to results.

Would not hesitate to recommend Nick to anyone and hope to be able to hire him again in the future once we start on the house itself.
