About Jeffrey Goodchild MCIAT

I first of all arrange to visit the client and discuss with them their needs and how I can best meet their requirements (at no charge.) I am very experienced at doing house extensions, because this has been the type of plans I have been mainly doing for 40 years.
What a lot of people don't realise is that extension design is a specialism. The detailing for small jobs is the same as for larger jobs, but it is far more concentrated, and the rules are tighter for extensions.
I then proceed to draw up their contract, showing my costs and the council costs. We do not add prices together, so that the client can see what they are paying for. I leave the contract with the client so that they can have time to consider our proposals. If the client requests our services we can proceed to do a measured survey of the property.
I produce drawings on Cad, which I then send to the client for their feedback and alterations if needed. When all is agreed I will present the plans to the relevant authorities.
I produce design and access statements (where/if required.)
Alterations that the local authority request to the scheme are part of this service, at no extra cost.
I can also engage third party contacts (e.g. Structural Engineer.)
For new build projects, additionally a full site checking service and a warranty backed Certificate of completion is available.
Everything that a client needs to get his project passed by the relevant authority and ready to start work.
We will help with any other unforeseen detailing required.
Before becoming an architectural technologist I worked on house building sites. Looking after bricklayers, joiners, plasterer etc. So I understand building and the way buildings are put together. So you can rely on my experience and expertise, to ensure your project is what you want. Our aim is to do all that we can to get the scheme you want approved.
