About JB - Fitting Bathrooms and More

This is the first update to my account (May 2018) information since opening it 2.5 years ago. There used to be a list of things I deemed myself confident with. Now all i need to convey is that if it needs done, we'll get it done. I'm a "Yes" builder.

JB Bathrooms is the smaller part of the growing, though not MyBuilder represented, Great Tay construction. Both are busy and around 80% of the last six months work has come from work of mouth, other trades recommendations and repeat business but MyBuilder is great too. I'm confident that i'm doing things the way they ought to be done with strong planning and communications, smart management of projects big and small and ultimately an excellent finish at a fair price.

We are constantly told we're considerably cheaper than than other quotes yet we make a fair rate and deliver second to none work.

Personally I have been 'on tools' a lot throughout my life. I retired from the Army as an officer and held various management positions in property and hospitality and have retrained to have better hours with my young family.

I love building and have completed various City and Guilds qualifications to bolster the knowledge gained from my time as a joiners labourer (domestic and Norwary +2 years), as a general labourer (1 year), as a self employed decking installer and as a rope access installation and maintenance engineer for raised adventure systems. I continue to study as we grow and with my joiner; my academic approach and problem solving married with his experience make us a formidable team.

My joiner has 25 years experience and is a wizard. We're a strong team and subcontract other experienced tradespeople as and when required.

I've had one bad feedback which was because I was overloaded and rushed a job. While I thought the client harsh I did accept it could be better (trims in kitchen tiling). I offered to re-do the work based on my portfolio and his bathroom which I had done well but they had decided they did not want me too so I repaid 50% of the job and they are now satisfied.

If you use us I am confident you'll never want or need to call another builder again.
